BBC is supposedly airing the Afghan Hands segment on one of their channels. The only time slot I've been able to find in New York City is channel 25 at 6 pm today.
I flew to Miami for a day to give a talk about make up to aspiring make up artists. To be honest I was a bit nervous since I don't do "MAKE UP" but I was shocked at how much interest there was for the way I do make up and I almost missed my flight because the Q&A kept going and going....
Over all it was amazing to talk to boys and girls that are inching their way into an industry that seems impossible to break into and from the outside looks like only a handful get lucky.
But I'm a believer that everyone get at least ONE break and we all get that if we stay on track.
My favorite was shopping for Sanitizing sprays at Alcone, you can actually spray your pallettes!!!, meeting Vincent and his beautiful wife that started the SO NEEDED one stop shop in NYC and online, I stocked up on make up forever goodies and got to watch Travis Pates mastery of special effects in action at the Joe Blasco booth.
An elegant evening of friends in the ondustry talking and raising funds and awareness about cancer. It is alway hard for me to swallow my tears since my dear friends Karen Shown and Naz Toloui were both stolen away from me by this dreadful disease and were both in the industry. Let's hope his year provide THE funds that finds cure!!!
